Five people were killed and 16 injured when Houthi forces launched a missile strike on the presidential palace in Aden, Yemeni officials said.
The attack targeted the compound where the prime minister and several ministers were present at the time. None of the senior officials was reported injured. The government described the strike as a terrorist act and said operations against the Houthis would continue.
Houthi forces have intensified attacks on government-held areas and on targets in neighbouring Saudi Arabia in recent days. The strikes have included drones and missiles aimed at airports, oil facilities and military sites.
The internationally recognised government has condemned the assault and called for stronger international support. Previous truce arrangements have collapsed, leading to renewed fighting across multiple fronts.
Casualty figures were confirmed by Yemeni authorities. Search and rescue efforts were conducted at the site following the explosion.
The incident adds to the civilian toll of the long-running conflict and highlights the continued capacity of Houthi forces to strike high-profile targets in government-controlled territory.
