The Saudi-led coalition has said it successfully intercepted a cruise missile fired by Yemen’s Houthis that was headed toward Madinah.

Coalition spokesman Major General Turki al-Maliki stated that the missile was brought down over the area. The incident follows a series of recent Houthi attacks targeting various parts of Saudi Arabia, including ballistic and cruise missiles aimed at Riyadh, the Eastern Province and other locations, as well as several drones.

The Houthis’ spokesman Yahya Saree denied that the group had launched any attack on Saudi Arabia on the day in question. The coalition said it continues to take measures to protect civilians and deter further aggression.

The exchange is part of the ongoing conflict in Yemen, where the Saudi-led coalition has been fighting Houthi forces for years.
