The Cabinet convened an intensive Working Session at the President's Office this week to review the implementation status of major public infrastructure initiatives and establish coordinated strategies to accelerate stalled development projects across all administrative atolls.

The high-level session, chaired by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and attended by cabinet ministers alongside chief executives of major state-owned enterprises (SOEs), focused on assessing progress against the administration's primary electoral pledges, as reported by the President's Office and Edition.mv.

During the deliberations, President Muizzu announced that the government has successfully resolved critical supply chain bottlenecks and raw material shortages that had previously interrupted project timelines. The disruptions, which affected imports of construction aggregates, fuel, and specialized equipment, had stemmed largely from regional trade volatility connected to conflicts in the Middle East.

With material logistics re-established, the President issued explicit directives to cabinet members and state enterprise heads to immediately resume halted projects and execute work at heightened pace:

"Ministers and enterprise leadership must renew collaborative dedication to ensure that development works across all islands proceed swiftly and meet their contractual deadlines without further delay."

The government's priority pipeline encompasses essential municipal infrastructure, including island water and sewerage networks, harbor expansions, coastal revetments, local council secretariats, and community fitness centers. During earlier national addresses, President Muizzu committed that potable water and modern sanitation systems would be fully operational on every inhabited island within the next two years.

State enterprises involved in core infrastructure delivery—including MTCC, Fenaka Corporation, MWSC, and RDC—presented updated execution schedules detailing adjusted procurement pipelines and labor mobilization plans for island sites.
