The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands has been awarded Two MICHELIN Keys in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, securing top-tier international recognition for its distinct architectural design, service consistency, and memorable guest experiences.

The prestigious designation, detailed in the latest hotel classifications published by the MICHELIN Guide and reported by Edition.mv, places the luxury retreat among an elite echelon of global hospitality properties. Under Michelin's newly introduced hotel rating system, Two Keys signify "an exceptional stay" characterized by memorable personality, remarkable architecture, and outstanding hospitality standard.

Located in North Malé Atoll, approximately forty-five minutes by luxury speedboat from Velana International Airport, the resort was conceived by acclaimed architectural firm Kerry Hill Architects. The property features minimalist, spherical overwater and beachfront villas arranged in sweeping curves that honor natural ocean currents and marine topography.

Michelin evaluators assessed the resort across five core evaluation pillars: excellence in architecture and interior design; authenticity and personality; quality of personalized guest service; value relative to experience; and seamless integration into its natural surroundings. The guide specifically lauded the property's refined gastronomic offerings, including seven distinctive restaurants, alongside ocean-centered conservation initiatives supported by the Jean-Michel Cousteau Environmental Ambassadors of the Environment programme.

Management at the resort welcomed the accolade, describing it as a testament to the dedication of its Maldivian and international hospitality workforce in maintaining rigorous operational standards while pioneering contemporary luxury tourism.

The award arrives as the Maldives hospitality sector continues to solidify its reputation as the premier global benchmark for ultra-luxury island travel, attracting discerning international travelers and major hospitality honors worldwide.
