Finey Council has announced the top three performers in its 2026 Quran competition.
Ilaaf, Mishka and Aira secured the leading positions in the contest organised by the Shaviyani atoll island council. The competition forms part of regular community religious and educational activities on the island.
Such events encourage young participants to improve their recitation skills and engage with Islamic studies. Local councils across the Maldives commonly host similar competitions during the year.
The results were released through local media channels. Prize details and the full list of participants were not immediately available in national coverage.
Island-level contests often feed into larger atoll or national events. Organisers typically provide certificates and small awards to encourage continued participation.
The Finey competition continues a longstanding tradition of community Quran activities in the northern atolls.
