The President’s Office has opened applications for the vacant civil society member seat on the board of the Local Government Authority (LGA).
The vacancy arose because the previous representative from a civil society organisation stepped down. Interested candidates can download the application form from the President’s Office website. Forms must be submitted between 08:30 and 12:00 on working days until 1 November, excluding public holidays.
The LGA board is chaired by Finance Minister Hassan Zareer. The authority’s CEO is Mohamed Nimal. The board is responsible for overseeing the accountability and performance of local councils.
The call for applications was announced on 19 October. No deadline for the final decision has been specified beyond the submission window.
