President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated Maldives Expo 2026 at Hulhumalé Central Park, bringing together 430 exhibitors displaying more than 4,400 products.

Accompanied by First Lady Sajidha Mohamed, the President opened the exhibition and visited stalls. Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef and other senior officials attended. The event is organised by the Ministry of Economic Development, Transport and Trade and the Business Centre Corporation.

Under the theme “Future Maldives – Innovation, Creativity and Global Connections”, the expo spans seven districts. This is an expansion from last year’s five zones and 240 participants. New areas include a Visitor Economy District for SMEs linked to tourism and an International District for goods from countries with trade agreements or negotiations under way.

The fair continues until 2 November. An awards ceremony for enterprise categories took place on 24 October. Further visits by the President and First Lady are planned.

Organisers present the expo as a platform for local producers to connect with buyers and to showcase innovation.
