Saudi Arabia has extended the closure of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh after a series of Houthi attacks that left at least 13 people dead and hundreds injured.
The latest strikes targeted the passenger terminal. Authorities said the suspension of operations will continue until 9 pm local time on 17 October or until further notice, affecting hundreds of daily flights.
Several regional airlines, including those from the Gulf, have cancelled services to Riyadh. The attacks form part of a broader escalation involving Houthi forces and the Saudi-led coalition.
Saudi officials have described the strikes as war crimes and warned of a firm response. The airport is a major hub for the capital and the temporary closure has disrupted travel for residents and visitors alike.
