Foreign Minister Iruthisham Adam held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

She interacted with heads of delegation and counterparts from Singapore, Grenada, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Malta, Antigua and Barbuda and other countries. Adam noted that she was pleased to reconnect with colleagues from her earlier posting as High Commissioner of the Maldives in London.

The engagements focused on renewing bilateral ties and sharing perspectives on issues of common interest to Maldives and fellow Commonwealth members. Adam posted images from the meetings, highlighting continued engagement with partners across regions.

CHOGM brings together leaders from the 56-member Commonwealth to discuss shared challenges in governance, trade, climate and security. Maldives’ participation underscores its active role in the organisation.

Adam previously served in senior roles including Minister of Youth and Sports and Minister of Health, as well as vice-president of the UN Human Rights Council in 2013.
