Archaeologists have announced the discovery of what they believe is the world's oldest known seagoing vessel, dating back about 4,500 years, off the coast of Turkey.

The find was made by a team studying the coastal area of Kekova. Experts say the vessel dates to the Early Bronze Age, between 2700 and 2400 BCE. While much of the wooden hull has deteriorated over time, ceramic pottery and cargo remain remarkably well-preserved.

The discovery provides important evidence of maritime trade and travel in the Mediterranean during that period, offering new insights into early seafaring routes and commercial networks.
