The Football Association of Maldives has confirmed that the Palestine under-17 national team will again hold its training camp in the Maldives ahead of the AFC U17 Asian Cup.
The camp will take place in Kaafu Guraidhoo for about ten days starting next Tuesday. The team will also play two friendly matches against the Maldives U17 side at the Guraidhoo ground.
Last year the Palestine team trained in Baa Eydhafushi. The Football Association of Maldives thanked the government and Guraidhoo Council for their support in organising the camp.
The Palestine team is in a group with India, Malaysia, Singapore and Guam. Their group matches begin in India next month, and the side will travel via the Maldives.
The Maldives U17 team is preparing for its own Asian Cup qualifiers in Thailand, where it is grouped with Thailand, Iraq, Hong Kong and Chinese Taipei. Hosting the Palestine camp provides additional match practice for the local side and strengthens bilateral football ties.
