Maziya Sports and Recreation Club coach Thomas Trucha has said the standard of the Dhivehi Premier League is improving because every team is working to raise its performance.

Speaking to reporters before Maziya’s match against Bis Buru, Trucha noted that foreign coaches and players are working alongside local talent. He said the quality of foreign players appears to be rising and that teams are better prepared between matches.

Maziya, the defending champions, sit fifth with seven points from four games. Trucha acknowledged that the side has dropped points in recent matches, including a first league defeat in seven years against New Radiant and a draw with Victory, but insisted the performances themselves were not poor.

He described Bis Buru as an unpredictable side that has already beaten Dhidhdhoo and Buru Sports. Maziya will need to be fully concentrated, both tactically and mentally, he said.

Trucha also called for more supporters to attend matches, saying football feels incomplete without a crowd. The match against Bis Buru is scheduled for 21:00.
