President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the fourth batch of initial training under the national service programme, involving 352 young people.
Participants include 288 men and 64 women from 125 islands across all atolls. The President attended the opening and encouraged the trainees to complete the programme with determination.
The national service initiative is part of broader efforts to build civic responsibility and skills among Maldivian youth. Officials have described successive batches as contributing to a generation committed to national development.
No further public details on the exact duration or post-training placement for this batch were immediately available. Previous cohorts have completed similar foundational training modules.
