Ooredoo Maldives and the Ministry of Islamic Affairs have officially launched the Ooredoo Masjidhuna initiative to renovate and improve conditions at mosques across the country.
The agreement was signed today at Ooredoo’s head office in Hulhumalé during a press briefing. Islamic Affairs Minister Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed signed on behalf of the ministry, while Ooredoo CEO and Managing Director Shady Qawasmi signed for the company.
Minister Shaheem welcomed the project, saying it would help ensure mosques are well maintained and comfortable for worshippers, particularly during Ramadan. He praised Ooredoo’s contribution to community responsibility.
Ooredoo said the initiative goes beyond digital connectivity and seeks to create welcoming spaces. Five mosques have already been selected for renovation under the programme as part of preparations for the holy month.
