Nine people have been arrested in connection with a case involving a young woman and children, according to reports from Thiladhun.
The arrests form part of an investigation into allegations that include sexual offences. Police have not released names or further details to protect the privacy of those involved, particularly any minors.
Such cases are handled by specialised units within the Maldives Police Service. Authorities emphasise the importance of reporting suspected abuse promptly.
The investigation is ongoing. Support is available for victims through established child protection and welfare services.
Local media have highlighted the arrests as part of broader efforts to address serious crimes against vulnerable individuals.
