President Mohamed Muizzu has officially opened the fourth batch of the National Service Initiative Training programme, involving 352 young people from across the country.

The participants include 288 men and 64 women drawn from 125 islands spanning all atolls. The programme forms part of the broader national service effort aimed at building responsible and committed young citizens.

Muizzu said the training contributes to creating a generation dedicated to the nation and wished the participants success. He encouraged them to complete the programme with determination and hard work.

The initiative is intended to provide skills, discipline and a sense of civic duty. Previous batches have followed a similar structure of residential training.

The launch took place as the government continues to expand youth-focused programmes alongside other development priorities.
