A MVR 650 million loan has been issued to the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) for the Giraavaru lagoon reclamation.
The funding supports the resumption of works after a period of pause. MACL is managing the project, which is intended to create land for housing.
Officials have reported that more than two-thirds of the planned area has already been reclaimed.
