Maldives Digital Service has warned of possible temporary disruptions to government digital services as it implements security measures addressing critical PHP vulnerabilities.

In coordination with the National Cyber Security Agency, MDS is applying patches, vulnerability mitigation and system hardening in response to CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. These flaws pose risks of unauthorised access.

The PHP team has released updates for multiple versions, and affected systems are advised to update immediately. Institutions unable to patch promptly have been urged to take websites offline temporarily.

MDS continues to monitor the situation and conduct assessments. Temporary disruptions may occur while measures are implemented, but the agency has pledged to minimise impact and restore services as quickly as possible.

The coordinated response aims to strengthen the protection and resilience of government digital infrastructure amid evolving cyber threats.
