The Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) National Council has passed a resolution against the Rasmale' project.

The vote came despite former President Mohamed Nasheed having expressed full support for aspects of the initiative. Nasheed has warned that the party is adopting a more confrontational stance.

The resolution signals potential further legislative and public opposition to the Eagle Hills partnership.
