Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) will conduct a special surgical camp in Laamu Gan.

The camp is intended to provide specialised medical procedures to residents of Laamu Atoll and surrounding islands who might otherwise need to travel to Malé for treatment.

Such outreach programmes are part of efforts to expand access to healthcare services beyond the capital. IGMH, the country’s main referral hospital, regularly organises similar camps in the atolls.

Details on the dates, specific procedures and registration process are expected to be announced by the hospital and local health authorities.

Improving healthcare access in the atolls remains a priority for the Ministry of Health, with ongoing investments in regional facilities and visiting specialist services.
