Land reclamation at Giraavaru Falhu has resumed after a five-month pause, with 115 hectares or 68.8 percent of the project now complete.
The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) is managing the work using a MVR 650.7 million government loan. Officials have not yet provided a final completion date for the housing site.
The project is intended to create land for housing. Progress has been steady since work restarted, according to reports from Adhadhu.
MACL has been overseeing the reclamation efforts. The loan was issued to support the continuation of the project after the earlier suspension.
