Five people were injured when two motorbikes collided on Nirolhu Magu in Hulhumalé Phase 2 at about 2:55 am on Wednesday, 7 October. Four are in serious condition.
They were treated first at Hulhumalé Hospital, and four were moved to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital. Police said one bike carried three people and was going against the one-way traffic direction. It is believed to have been taken without the owner's permission, and the rider did not hold a licence for that class of vehicle.
Unnamed sources told Raajje.mv the three riders were trying to avoid a police vehicle. Police are continuing their investigation.
