First Lady Sajida Mohamed visited the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) today as part of the official programme accompanying President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's state visit.
During the visit, she was briefed on the authority's work regulating the quality of medicines, registering pharmaceutical products, and overseeing biological products and health safety standards.
DRAP performs functions similar to the Maldives Food and Drug Authority. First Lady Sajida previously worked at the Maldivian authority and brings experience in the health sector.
Officials from the authority shared details of their operations, and discussions focused on potential collaboration to advance the health sector in both countries.
The First Lady has prioritised women's health and mental health initiatives in the Maldives since taking office. The visit forms part of broader bilateral engagements covering multiple areas of cooperation.
