Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has received more than 6,000 complaints from residents of its social housing units in Hulhumalé.
According to the corporation, a total of 6,917 issues were reported through its portal, email and reception between the start of occupancy and 13 October. Of these, 6,128 have been resolved. The remaining 789 cases are being handled by technical teams.
The most frequently reported problems include water leaks, general building maintenance, difficulties with the online portal for payments and updates, issues related to apartment modifications, noise disturbances, and lift maintenance.
On 14 October the corporation cancelled the agreements for two flats whose occupants had failed to pay rent according to the terms and ordered the units to be vacated.
FDC said work continues to address outstanding complaints. The social housing towers form a major part of the government’s effort to expand affordable housing in the greater Malé area.
