The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has cancelled the agreements for two flats in the Aman Tower in Hulhumale Phase 1 after the occupants failed to pay rent in accordance with the rules.

In a statement issued today, FDC said the owners of the two units had been given repeated opportunities and a 135-day period to settle the arrears. Notices were sent more than twice, and a 30-day notice was also provided before termination. The notices were delivered through the Fahi portal, SMS, email and written communication.

Despite the extended period and multiple notices, payments were not made. The agreements have therefore been cancelled, and the occupants have been instructed to vacate the flats within 15 days of receiving the notice and hand them over to FDC. Access to the FDC portal accounts of the two parties has also been restricted.

FDC stated that the step was taken to uphold the terms of the agreements and to ensure fairness and equality for all parties. The corporation noted that out of the 4,000 flats it has developed in Hulhumale, 3,362 units are paying rent as required, while 564 units were in arrears as of last month.

FDC called on all residents of the Aman Towers to continue paying rent and maintenance fees on time in accordance with their agreements in order to maintain the buildings and service standards.

The Aman Towers form part of the social housing project developed by FDC in Hulhumale.
