A fire has damaged an apartment in Hiyaa Tower 11 in Hulhumalé, resulting in significant losses.
Emergency services responded to the incident. The extent of the damage is being assessed, and affected residents are receiving assistance.
This follows other recent fires in the Hiyaa housing complex. Authorities continue to investigate causes, which in previous cases have included kitchen-related incidents.
The National Disaster Management Authority and fire and rescue teams regularly handle such emergencies in high-rise residential buildings.
Residents of the towers have been reminded of fire safety measures, including the use of smoke detectors and careful handling of electrical and cooking equipment.
