Leading optical and ophthalmic services provider Eye Care Maldives has launched a special retail campaign offering a 20 percent discount on selected spectacle frames to celebrate World Sight Day 2026.
According to a promotional announcement reported by Edition.mv, the "Love Your Eyes" initiative will run across all Eye Care optical outlets and consultation clinics nationwide through the end of October. The promotion applies to a broad selection of branded ophthalmic frames and sunglasses, aimed at encouraging citizens to prioritize visual health and undergo regular diagnostic examinations.
World Sight Day, commemorated globally on the second Thursday of October, serves as an international advocacy platform to raise awareness about avoidable blindness, correctable refractive errors, and the importance of early ophthalmic interventions. In addition to retail discounts, Eye Care ophthalmic teams are conducting targeted community outreach activities, including free vision screenings for schoolchildren, elderly citizens, and individuals with specialized needs.
The company noted that modern lifestyle shifts, including prolonged screen exposure among youth and rising rates of unmanaged diabetes across the country, have driven an increase in vision-related complications such as digital eye strain, myopia, and diabetic retinopathy:
"Regular eye examinations are vital for preserving ocular health. Many debilitating eye conditions exhibit no noticeable warning signs during early stages, making routine clinical check-ups indispensable for timely treatment."
Founded in 1995 as the first private optical clinic in the Maldives, Eye Care has grown into the nation's largest optical chain, operating full-service consultation centers in Malé, Hulhumalé, and key regional hubs including Kulhudhuffushi, Fuvahmulah, and Addu City.
Full promotion terms and clinic booking information are published on the retailer's official portal at eyecare.mv.
