The official logo, theme song and branding for the Visit Maldives 2027 national campaign were unveiled at a ceremony marking National Tourism Day.

The branding was launched by Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen and Hussain Afeef, chairman of the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry, at Barceló Nasandhura. The campaign, first announced by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu in February, is intended as a national effort involving resorts, guesthouses, businesses, employees and the wider public.

The theme “Islands Are Us” was revealed earlier this year. It aims to present the Maldives through its communities, culture, natural environment and range of visitor experiences beyond the traditional sun, sand and sea image. The visual identity draws on eight symbols inspired by local marine life and natural elements representing different tourism segments.

Minister Ameen emphasised the importance of collective participation. He said the success of the campaign would be a victory for the entire country. New categories for the 2027 Maldives Tourism Awards were also announced at the event, with applications expected to open in the first quarter of next year.

Visit Maldives Corporation is coordinating the campaign alongside a specialised steering committee. The initiative forms part of efforts to support tourism recovery and long-term growth amid fluctuating arrivals from key markets.
