Officials from the Maldives Monetary Authority have met with global financial leaders during the IMF and World Bank meetings.

The engagements provided an opportunity to discuss the country's economic outlook, foreign reserve position and areas of potential cooperation. Maldives has been working to strengthen its external position amid tourism recovery and ongoing fiscal challenges.

Recent data have shown usable reserves at relatively low levels, with officials projecting improvement in the final quarter of the year supported by higher foreign exchange conversions. The meetings allow for direct dialogue with counterparts on policy measures and technical support.

International financial institutions have previously provided assessments of Maldives' debt sustainability, tourism-dependent growth and climate-related vulnerabilities. Continued engagement is viewed as important for accessing technical advice and potential financing.

The MMA has not released a detailed readout of the specific discussions, but officials described them as constructive.
