Maldivian has added the Maldives’ first King Air 360 to its fleet, introducing an eight-seat premium aircraft for dedicated resort transfers and private charter services.

The twin-engine turboprop was brought in through a partnership with Nilaa Coral Island Resort in Gaafu Dhaalu Kodegalaa. The aircraft will initially provide dedicated air transfer services to the resort and will also be available for private charter within the Maldives.

Maldivian Managing Director Ibrahim Iyas said the introduction of the King Air 360 marks a new step in the airline’s premium travel offering and supports growing demand for more personalised and flexible air services.

The King Air 360 features a pressurised cabin and is capable of flying at higher altitudes than seaplanes, with the added advantage of being able to operate night flights. While its passenger capacity is comparable to typical seaplanes used for resort transfers, the aircraft type offers different operational characteristics.

Maldivian currently operates a fleet of 25 aircraft, including an Airbus A330-200, Airbus A320, five ATR aircraft, seven Dash 8 aircraft and 11 DHC-6 Twin Otters.

The addition expands the national carrier’s portfolio of domestic air services and is aimed at the luxury tourism and corporate travel segments.
