The Maldives recorded USD 314.9 million in re-export earnings in the first nine months of 2026, according to Maldives Monetary Authority statistics.
This represents a 48.5 per cent increase from USD 212 million in the same period last year. The growth has been linked to the expansion of sea-to-air cargo services that support the re-export trade.
Re-exports form an important part of the country’s external trade activity beyond tourism. The higher figure indicates stronger performance in this segment of the economy.
The MMA figures cover the period up to the end of September. Further details on the main commodities and partner countries were not specified in the summary data.
