The Maldives has launched its Visit Maldives Year 2027 campaign at the World Travel Market in London.

The theme is Celebrate the Sunny Side. President Mohamed Muizzu designated 2027 as Visit Maldives Year during his presidential address to the People's Majlis earlier this year.

Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Mohamed Ameen said the campaign brings together tourism businesses, island communities and international partners to showcase the destination's range of experiences. He noted that arrivals have recovered momentum since June despite disruptions linked to the Middle East conflict and higher travel costs.

Between January and October 2026 the Maldives recorded 1,762,751 tourist arrivals. China was the largest source market, followed by Russia and the United Kingdom.

A delegation of 161 representatives, including participants from 62 tourism companies, is attending the three-day event at ExCeL London.

The government has set a target of 2.5 million arrivals in 2027.
