Bank of Maldives has reported a net profit of MVR 1.93 billion for the first nine months of 2026, the strongest result for the period in the bank’s history.
The figure represents a 26 percent increase from MVR 1.53 billion in the same period last year. Third-quarter profit alone reached MVR 647.2 million, up 36 percent year-on-year.
By the end of September the bank’s capital adequacy ratio stood at 38 percent, more than three times the regulatory minimum of 12 percent. Total assets were MVR 65.6 billion and customer deposits MVR 42.36 billion.
CEO Mohamed Shareef said 2026 is on course to be the strongest year in the bank’s history, citing robust capital, liquidity and customer trust. The results follow growth in lending and digital transactions alongside cost control.
The figures provide context for the bank’s recent inclusion in an international performance ranking.
